BETSY O'HERN FENTI

HORNELL - Betsy O'Hern Fenti, 42,  passed away unexpectedly Wednesday evening (May 22, 2002) at St. James Mercy Hospital.

Born in Hornell on April 25, 1960, she was a daughter of the late W. Raymond and Mary Boughner O'Hern.

A lifelong resident of Hornell, Betsy was a graduate of Hornell High School, Class of 1976.

She was employed for the past five years for the Hornell City School District as a Substitute Caller.

Betsy attended St. Ann's Church, was a member of the Carducci Lodge and the Hornell Association. Always giving of herself, she served as a volunteer for various organizations including the Hornell Area Council for the Disabled and the July 4th Celebration Committee and assisted with the Hornell Area Computer Klub (H.A.C.K.).

An avid Yankees fan, Betsy loved social gatherings with her friends, and enjoyed reading, writing poetry, playing cards, bingo and on-line computer games.

Her family includes her husband, Frank Fenti, who she married in St. Ignatius Loyola Church on July 1, 1990; her brother, Michael (Judy) O'Hern of Hornell; her sister, Heather "Teddi" O'Hern of Hornell; her nephew, Patrick O'Hern and niece, Mary O'Hern; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Frank and Sue Fenti of Hornell; also her aunts, uncles and cousins.

Besides her parents, Betsy was predeceased by her brother, Robert O'Hern.

Calling hours are from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Saturday and 12-2 p.m. on Sunday at the Bishop & Johnson Funeral Home, Inc., 285 Main St., Hornell, where a funeral and committal service will be held following calling hours at 2 p.m. on Sunday, with Deacon Robert McCormick officiating. Interment will be in Hillside Cemetery, Canisteo.
